1st Nation Foundation

Ancestry research tools to discover the paper trail, search the Dawes Rolls, and document your lineage.

1st Nation Foundation helps families trace ancestry the historical record got wrong. The Paper Trail explains how census records, Indian population schedules, and racial classifications were written, and why a ledger can say one thing while a bloodline says another. Visitors can search the Dawes Rolls archive, build a family tree that connects the generations, and follow a clear guide to self-identification and reclaiming status: the steps, the records to gather, and how the process works. A resources section adds articles, tools, and expert support for their research.
